Lately, video renting stores like Blockbuster and Hollywood video are having difficulty competing with online ones like Netflix. Yet they are also having difficulty because of the free movies online. Now this is not simply a free service, rather it is because of the lack of regulation of what is posted on the internet.

Many of these free online videos are posted on by users that usually have no legal rights to the videos but post them anyway. This is great for internet users who do not want to pay for rentals, but it may be hurting the rental companies. Overall, it seems like the online videos will win in the end.
